Aerodynamics follows the same discipline. Nothing on the body is there for styling alone. The NACA ducts feed the intercoolers. The low nose and small overhang reduce lift at speed. The fixed rear wing is structural to the car's stability above 300 km/h, not a badge of intent. Remove it and the F40's top speed claim, 324 km/h, becomes a different, more dangerous car.

This is what "unassisted" actually means in hardware: mass removed until only the necessary mass remains, and every remaining surface doing exactly one job.
