The graph,
live.
Engine Sphere is a living document. This page shows the real state of the knowledge graph today — how many entities exist, how many connections link them, how much of the encyclopedia has been written. It updates continuously as new entities are added.
How small is the automotive world?
Hollywood is said to be six degrees of separation. Our working hypothesis: the automotive world runs closer to three or four — designers who crossed brands, engines shared between rivals, lineages spanning half a century. This is the live measurement, recomputed from every story-rich connection in the graph. Hub links (a shared manufacturer, a shared theme) are deliberately excluded — a path should read like a story, not a coincidence.
Counting every connection type (manufacturers and themes included), the average drops to 4.4 degrees across 106 entities.

Suggest an entity.
The graph grows because people who care about the subject point us toward what's missing. If you know of a car, person, engine, event or era that should be in the Sphere — tell us. Tell us why it connects.
Suggestions go directly into our research queue. When the entity is published, we'll let you know if you left an email.
