The LaFerrari is Ferrari's first hybrid road car, combining a naturally aspirated V12 with an electric motor for a combined 950 hp, and the point in the halo lineage where electronic assistance genuinely arrives.
Unveiled in 2013 under the internal project name F150, the LaFerrari adapted Formula 1 KERS technology, Ferrari's own hybrid energy-recovery system, for a road car for the first time. Its name, meaning simply 'The Ferrari' in Italian, was chosen to present it as the definitive statement of what the company could build. Where the F40, F50 and Enzo before it competed on how little stood between driver and machine, the LaFerrari's entire premise is what a second, electric machine can add.
